Engineering Data, which includes all drawing, data specifications, technical reports, etc., will be controlled through the engineering drawing and release systems. Engineering documentation and control will be implemented per MIL-D-70327.
The Engineering Department is responsible for the control and distribution of drawings. Quality Assurance is responsible for assuring the latest applicable engineering drawings, drawing changes, ECO as well as product test, special processes and material specifications, processing instructions and related documents are available in the area of work performance.
All new issues and changes thereto are subjected to a sign-off review and approval by Technical Ordnance Engineering and Quality Assurance. The points of affectivity of the changes are clearly defined and records of affectivity are maintained.
A Document Custodian appointed by the Engineering Department controls the distribution, check out and location of all documents. When a change to a document is made, the superseded document is recalled and the new revision is issued. ECO or Engineering Change Notices are issued to recipients of affected documents when they are released.
The Quality Assurance Department ensures that any changes are incorporated into all procurement documents, as well as test and inspection precedures. The change control system requires that all changed articles are so identified and re-inspected or tested.
