CED Pyrotechnic and Pneumatic Actuators produce linear motion quickly, accurately, and reliably. Whether it is a pushing, pulling, or rotating motion, CED has supplied actuators for the most complex systems to include Fin/Wing Deployment, inlet door opening, spoiler retracting, arming/safing, canopy removal, stage separation, stores release/eject, payload release, parachute release, hatch/door removal, faring removal, or silo door opening. CED has designed, developed and produced numerous linear actuators. These actuators are functioned by pneumatic, hydraulic, or gas input sources.
The ability to design and analyze the configuration and to model the performance of the linear actuation system is an expertise of CED unmatched in this industry. CED engineers use CED’s proprietary SIBAC software to understand dynamics and propellant combustion/thermo-fluids. A design can be simulated, changed in many ways and reconfigured in a simulation, evolving in a design that is complete and accurate when first produced. |
